Typical Sash Window Restoration
You can choose a Whole Restoration or Partial Restoration. Each part of the process has a documented price list.
- Remove all stop beadings and replace with new primed red cedar, frame your window with a quality beading (draft seal available)
- Remove and replace all parting beads for smooth sliding windows (draft seal available)
- Remove sashes, secure all joints or replace with new sashes
- Remove all old rusty hardware from sashes
- Restore old pulleys or completely replace with new chrome or brass pulleys for effortless, smooth sliding silent windows
- Remove all glass and replace with new glass or specialty heritage glass
- Replace all putty
- Thoroughly prepare all wooden timber sashes and window frames by sanding (or remove with paint stripper)
- Repair any rotten timber fames with red cedar timber inserts or quality marine grade bog
- Prime all sashes and frames with quality Dulux primers
- Plane bottom sash to join meeting rails correctly
- Balance weight to windows for correctly balanced and safe windows
- Install quality traditional cotton sash cord or spiral balances
- Install sashes to run smoothly
- Install all beadings and set correctly for smooth running windows and allow for painting
- Prepare and Paint windows with a top quality finish, 2 coats of Dulux Paints
- Install new gleaming quality window hardware, sash locks sash lifts in chrome, satin chrome or brass
